Techno-opera performance is a long-term project
in collaboration with Ina Vietha and
Kiyoshi Yamamoto.
It was first created under the framework of
“Gestures & Nods #2: Performance, Drag, and Pedagogy”.
The work is a response to the contemporary destruction of
queer and transgender rights and reflects the eternal struggle
to restore and build queer gathering points and places.
The dramaturgy is based on a sacrificial ritual and mixes
elements from techno, classical music, poetry and dreams.
With Yamamoto’s colorful costumes and DJ Ina’s beats,
I weave together harmonies, dreams, poetry and improvisations
both live and sampling from works with a digital delay processor.
The audience is invited onto the dance floor/stage and
actively participates in the ritual.
